Downtown Waynesville is Rockin'!!

We just received our Downtown Waynesville "News on the Street" monthly bulletin and it sure is filled with lots of upcoming events! Waynesville, for those of you unfamiliar with our quaint little town, is located just 25 miles west of Asheville, North Carolina. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in the country. The Great Smoky Mountain and Pisgah National Parks are a short 30 minutes from Waynesville. In addition, there are all kinds of hiking trails, waterfalls and other mountain adventures very close by. Our website's 12-page travel guide provides an abundance of information about things to do in the Waynesville area.

Waynesville is a flurry of activity and events in the spring and summer months. We have an art gallery event called Art After Dark taking place the first Friday of every month through the end of summer. All of the downtown art galleries stay open late and have receptions to allow you to actually meet the artists. We also have two to three block parties throughout the summer with all kinds of music and dancing (yes, some clogging has been known to happen!). Next, throw in several festivals and classic car events and a fun time was had by all.

The first block party is conveniently scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend). The music starts at 7pm and there will be sidewalk sales all weekend at the shops and galleries in downtown Waynesville. While you're in town for all the festivities, enjoy a relaxing stay at Brookside Mountain Mist Inn. We just started our summer socials on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30pm this weekend. Everyone seemed to enjoy the opportunity to meet each other and their hosts. We were able to answer alot of questions about the Waynesville area and helped others plan their activities during their stay. The guests loved the new wines we served. Friday was an Old Vine Red Zinfandel and Saturday we served Castle Rock Pinot Noir.
We're looking forward to all the upcoming events in the Waynesville area. Let us help you plan your next adventure in the mountains. Let us be "Your Luxury Smoky Mountain Escape"!
