Fall Vacation in the Smoky Mountains

Fall at Brookside Mountain Mist Inn Bed & Breakfast in Waynesville, NC.I know its hard to believe that in one month fall will be upon us, especially with the extremely hot temperatures we're all experiencing this summer! Up here in the mountains, the temperatures are finally starting to come down. We were only in the upper 80's so we can't complain too much. It won't be long before we start to see the colors of fall creep their way down the Smoky Mountains.
Fall in the Smoky Mountains, as seen from our back terrace. It was interesting to watch the changing of the leaves begin at the top of the mountains and work down to the lower levels this past fall. In spring, the opposite effect occurred. The green began at the bottom and moved upward as the temperature increased. There truly is an ebb and flow to the seasons. I can't think of a more beautiful backdrop for watching these events then the Smoky Mountains in Western North Carolina. Check out these views from our Inn!
Brookside Mountain Mist Inn Bed & Breakfast at night We're starting to see a surge of reservations for the month of October and early November by "leaf peepers" from all over the country.
