Blue Ridge Parkway Signs of Fall

Dina and I took a quick drive up on the Blue Ridge Parkway today to see how far along the fall colors have come since the beginning of October. I can tell you that there is some color change, but due to the warmer than usual start to October, the peak of the color is definitely going to be delayed this year. It looks like it will peak closer to the third and forth weeks of October this year.

The Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are still open for driving and viewing the fall colors. There are some areas that have been barracaded closed, but many have been moved aside so they are still accessible. We had no trouble getting to Water Rock Knob and made the loop to US 19 and came back to Waynesville via Maggie Valley.

We sill have plenty of rooms available at Brookside Mountain Mist Inn Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville, NC, especially toward the latter part of the month. If you were hoping to see some spectacular fall colors its not too late! Call us, toll free, at 877-452-6880 or go online to to reserve your room today!

Come for the scenery, stay for the adventure!
